BaF2 crystal has good optical transmittance and can be used as an ultraviolet and infrared optical window in the spectral range of 0.15um-12.5um. At the same time, it has excellent scintillation performance and h as become an important crystal material in the fields of high-energy physics, nuclear physics, and nuclear medicine.

Advantage

The transmittance of barium fluoride ranges from ultraviolet to infrared, from 150-200nm to 11-11.5um, and can be used as a material for manufacturing optical components such as lenses. It can be used in infrared spectroscopy analysis windows, especially in the field of fuel analysis.
The transmittance of barium fluoride at 200nm is relatively low (0.60), but it rises to 0.96-0.97 at 500nm and maintains this level at 9um, and then begins to decline (0.85 at 10um and 0.42 at 12um). From 700nm to 5um, the refractive index is about 1.46. Barium fluoride can be used as a pre-opacifier and can also be used in the production of enamel and glaze frits. It can also be used in the metallurgical field as a molten pool for refining aluminum.
