In pharmaceutical, food & beverage, and fine-chemical industries, standard sight glasses frequently clog with suspended solids or microbial residues, obscuring visibility and causing unscheduled shutdowns. Operators face costly downtime when manual cleaning or gasket replacement is required, while traditional units risk seal failure under CIP/SIP cycles.
 
Lumistar's 176 Type integrates a precision 316L stainless-steel sintered filter plate (2–10 µm) directly behind tempered borosilicate glass, ensuring continuous, particle-free visual monitoring. Its hygienic inline design supports DIN 32676 Tri-Clamp or BSP/NPT screw-type connections, allowing tool-free removal and reinstallation under pressure. Fully CIP/SIP compatible (–10 °C to +135 °C, up to 1.6 bar), the 176 Type enables on-line cleaning without vessel depressurization. Dual-seal EPDM/PTFE gaskets guarantee leak-proof performance, while polished Ra ≤ 0.8 µm surfaces meet FDA, GMP, and 3A sanitary standards.

As a replacement for conventional glass discs in the following assemblies:
Circular sight ports to DlN 28121
Plus any other assemblies where the glass is of the same dimensions, e.g weld neck flanges with flat or raised face
