Zinc selenide Window Filter for Laser Lenses

CVD zinc selenide (ZnSe-CVD) has stable physical and chemical properties, a wide spectral transmission range, high transmittance, low absorption of 
infrared wavelengths, and can transmit visible light, which is used to make visible long-wave infrared lenses, windows, output coupling mirrors and beam expanders.

Advantage

CVD ZnSe has a wide transmission band and low absorption in the red part of the visible spectrum, making it the first choice for high-power CO2 laser optics.
ZnSe is available from 600nm-16um and is ideal for infrared applications. It is well suited for use in high-resolution thermal imaging equipment. Unlike germanium and silicon, ZnSe also transmits some visible light, so visual optical alignment is possible. However, ZnSe is relatively soft and scratches easily. The refractive index of ZnSe at 10.6um is 2.403.

Infrared thermal imaging systems: used for thermal imager windows and lenses (such as FLIR cameras, military night vision equipment).

Laser optics:

Lenses and output windows of CO lasers (10.6 μm).
